Side Rafting Tours and Combo Adventure Packages

Just Rafting

The Just Rafting package is ideal for those who want to experience an all-day river adventure. Departing from Side in the morning, you will head straight to Köprülü Canyon to raft along an approximately 14 km course, paddling through exhilarating rapids. Under the guidance of our experienced instructors, you will work in perfect harmony with your team, challenging the force of the water. Short swimming breaks and playful water fights with other rafts add even more fun. If you want to dedicate your entire day to the adrenaline of white water rafting, this tour is perfect for you!

Rafting + Canyoning

In the Rafting + Canyoning combo, your river adventure is enhanced with a canyon exploration. You begin your day with a canyoning activity that includes hiking, climbing, and swimming in a dedicated canyon. After trekking through narrow and dramatic canyon walls and taking a refreshing dip in small natural pools, you switch to your raft for the river journey. This way, you enjoy two distinct adventures—on both land and water. As you maneuver among the rocks in the canyon, you will feel the power of nature, followed by the thrill of paddling against the current of the Köprüçay River.

Rafting + Canyoning + Zipline (600 meters)

This package adds a 600-meter long zipline flight to your canyoning and rafting excitement. Your adventure begins with a canyon hike and swim, then continues with river rafting. At some point during or at the end of the rafting segment, you will have the opportunity to glide along a 600-meter steel cable over the canyon. As you soar high above, enjoy the bird’s-eye view of the landscape and feel your adrenaline peak. Rafting + Canyoning + Zipline is the perfect choice for those who want to experience three different adrenaline rushes in one day!

Rafting + Jeep Safari

If you want to combine your rafting adventure with an off-road experience on land, the Rafting + Jeep Safari package is just for you. In this tour, you will explore hidden trails on a 4x4 Jeep Safari along the foothills of the Taurus Mountains, enjoying an exciting drive on dusty forest roads. After being picked up from your hotel in the morning, you travel in a convoy of jeeps toward the Köprülü Canyon area—taking in charming village views and panoramic river scenes along the way. Then, you switch to the rafting segment and dive into the refreshing waters. This combined tour, offering both off-road and water adventures, is perfect for thrill-seekers who crave “both land and water” experiences.

Rafting + Quad Safari

The Rafting + Quad Safari (ATV) package combines your water adventure with the thrill of a motorized off-road ride. Whether you ride the quad (ATV) on a special track before or after paddling through the rapids, you will relish the feeling of speed and freedom as you navigate muddy and rugged trails. Depending on the tour program, you can either start with an ATV safari, get a little dusty, and then cool off with rafting, or enjoy the river first and then switch to an ATV ride to dry off. This is an ideal combination for those who want to experience two different doses of adrenaline in one day!

Rafting + Buggy Safari

In this package, we combine your rafting adventure with a buggy safari instead of an ATV. Enjoy an off-road driving experience with a specially designed two-seater buggy—especially fun to ride as a team with a friend or partner. After maneuvering through muddy tracks and water puddles on a natural trail, you transition to the rafting segment on the river to cool off. Alternatively, you can reverse the order by rafting first and then using the buggy to dry off. This combination delivers both water and dusty adventures in one day! Experience the thrill of speeding on the buggy while also enjoying the excitement of paddling in your raft.

Rafting + Jeep Safari + Köprülü Canyon Panorama + Buggy Safari + Zipline (600 meters)

This super combo, designed for adventure enthusiasts, offers multiple activities in one day. Your morning starts with a 4x4 Jeep Safari that takes you to one of the most beautiful panoramic viewpoints of Köprülü Canyon, where you admire the breathtaking canyon views from the cliff. Then, you head to the rafting center, board your raft, and experience an exciting course on the river. During or after a rafting break, you get the chance to soar on a 600-meter zipline above the river. After a lunch break, you switch to powerful buggy vehicles and join a dusty off-road ride through the forest. In this tour, which combines four different thrills—Jeep Safari, buggy driving, zipline, and rafting—not a moment is without adrenaline!

Rafting + Jeep Safari + Köprülü Canyon Panorama + Quad Safari + Zipline (600 meters)

This package is the ATV version of the previous super adventure. Again, your day begins with a Jeep Safari, followed by a photo stop at a breathtaking panoramic viewpoint overlooking Köprülü Canyon. Then, you board your rafting boat and battle through foamy rapids to complete the course. After the river adventure, you experience the thrill of soaring high on a 600-meter zipline. In the final leg of the day, you switch to a quad safari ride, enjoying a muddy and fun off-road journey. This combo, which lets you experience Jeep Safari, ATV riding, zipline, and rafting all in one go, guarantees an action-packed day from start to finish!

Rafting + Jeep Safari + Zipline (600 meters)

If you wish to enhance your rafting tour with both an off-road excursion and a brief zipline experience, this triple combo is ideal. Starting with a Jeep Safari in the morning, you enjoy a pleasant journey along forest roads and through village paths until you reach the rafting area. After paddling and getting thoroughly wet on the rafting course, you ride a 600-meter zipline attached to the facility to glide across to the opposite bank, capturing the final burst of adrenaline for the day. The Rafting + Jeep + Zipline combination is a practical and fun option for those with limited time who still want to experience variety.

Rafting + Jeep Safari + Adler Tour

This tour includes a special Adler Canyon tour conducted by Jeep Safari either before or after the rafting experience. You set off in a 4x4 vehicle to discover the hidden beauty of Adler Canyon in the Köprülü Canyon region. Accompanied by stunning natural scenery, this excursion takes you deep into the canyon where you will encounter unique rock formations and lush forests. After soaking in the captivating atmosphere of Adler Canyon, you switch to the rafting course and dive into the cool waters. The Rafting + Jeep Safari + Adler Tour is an ideal day-long adventure for those seeking both exploration and refreshment.

Rafting + Jeep Safari + Tazı Canyon

Enhance your rafting experience with a visit to Tazı Canyon, one of Antalya’s most popular natural attractions in recent times. The program typically starts early in the morning with a Jeep Safari; you climb towards the peaks of the Taurus Mountains and reach the famous Tazı Canyon viewpoint. Also known as Eagle Canyon, the view of the valley with its hundreds of meters in depth will take your breath away! After capturing photos and enjoying the view, you descend to the rafting area to embark on your river adventure. In this combo, the tranquil nature of Tazı Canyon meets the vibrant waters of the Köprüçay River. If you are passionate about nature photography and adrenaline, this tour is just for you.

Rafting + Jeep Safari + Tazı Canyon + Big Zipline (2000 meters)

This package combines the Tazı Canyon experience with an enormous zipline flight. After riding Jeeps to Tazı Canyon in the morning and taking in the magnificent view, you will leap onto one of the region’s longest ziplines, gliding through the air for 2000 meters. On the Big Zipline course, you will experience an incredible flight of approximately 2 km, soaring over the canyon like an eagle. Then, you descend to the riverbank, board your rafting boat, and complete your water adventure in the second half of the day. The Rafting + Tazı Canyon + 2000 m Zipline combo is an unforgettable package for thrill-seekers who are not afraid of heights and want to double their adrenaline rush.

Rafting + Jeep Safari + Quad Safari + Zipline + Fishing

This unique combination offers both an adrenaline rush and moments of relaxation! The tour begins with a Jeep Safari in the morning, followed by an off-road ride on an ATV Quad Safari. After getting a bit muddy and enjoying the wind on your face during the ATV adventure, you quickly jump into the river to cool off and complete the rafting course. Following the rafting segment, you soar across the canyon on a 600-meter zipline, capturing the final adrenaline surge. At the end of the day, you grab your fishing gear and enjoy a relaxing session of fishing by the riverbank. Testing your luck in trout-rich waters while enjoying a peaceful break is a perfect way to end an action-packed day.

Tazı Canyon + Adam Rocks + Selge + Jeep Safari

For those who want to experience the region without rafting, this land exploration tour is specially designed to showcase the natural and historical beauties of Köprülü Canyon National Park via a Jeep Safari. You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning in 4x4 jeeps and set off towards the heights of the Taurus Mountains. The first stop is the Tazı Canyon viewpoint, renowned for its magnificent scenery, where you can take a bird’s-eye view of the canyon and snap plenty of photos. The next stop is the famous Adam Rocks area, known for its intriguing rock formations that resemble human silhouettes, leaving you in awe of nature’s artistry. Finally, you reach the ancient city of Selge atop the mountains, where you can explore ruins of a Roman theater, agora, and temple at an altitude of 1000 meters, immersing yourself in history. This tour, which lets you experience both nature and history in the Köprülü Canyon region without rafting, is ideal for guests seeking discovery rather than adrenaline.

Tour Program

Hotel Pickup: In the early morning, you will be picked up from your hotel in Side or nearby areas by our vehicle or 4x4 safari jeep (the transfer vehicle may vary depending on your chosen package: standard rafting tours use air-conditioned minibuses, while tours including a Jeep Safari depart in a convoy of open jeeps). During the comfortable journey to the Köprülü Canyon area, your guide will explain the day’s program and basic safety rules.

Arrival and Preparation: Once you arrive at the rafting starting point, the equipment distribution and preparation phase begins. At our facility, you will be provided with appropriate helmets and life jackets, and oars will be distributed. Then, you will receive a comprehensive safety briefing from our experienced rafting guides, demonstrating how to paddle in the river, how to position yourself in the raft, and what to do in case of emergencies (for example, if the raft capsizes). Note: If your package includes a canyoning activity, a 20-30 minute guided walk and swim in a nearby small canyon is arranged before rafting. Guests not participating in canyoning can relax, sunbathe, or explore the surroundings during this time.

The Rafting Adventure: Once all preparations are complete, it’s time to board your raft! Each raft typically carries 8-10 people along with a guide. As a team, you push your raft into the water and let the current take over, kicking off an exciting course. With the initial rush of the Köprüçay River’s current, your heart will start racing – and with your guide’s command of “Forward!”, your entire team will paddle in sync. Throughout the course, you will encounter rapids of varying difficulty: sometimes the water flows gently, while at other times it suddenly foams up and jolts the raft. During the 2-3 hour rafting session, several breaks are scheduled; during these breaks, you can choose to jump into the cool river for a swim or relax on floating platforms. Our guides will provide necessary instructions before each major rapid so that you can safely enjoy every thrilling moment. You will feel the team spirit as you engage in water fights with other rafts and share plenty of laughs. Professional photographers and cameramen may capture your most fun moments – you can view these memories at the end of the tour and purchase them if desired.

Lunch: By the end of the course, you’ll be wearing a pleasant fatigue and a big smile! A delicious lunch service awaits you at our riverside restaurant. The menu typically consists of energy-boosting dishes such as grilled chicken or trout, accompanied by rice or pasta and salad (vegan/vegetarian options are available upon request—please inform your guide in advance). During the lunch break, relax in the shade, sip your cool beverage, and discuss the day’s adventures with your group. Meanwhile, photos and videos taken during the rafting course are displayed by our team, and you may purchase them as keepsakes if you wish.

Additional Activities: Depending on your selected tour, extra activities may be arranged around lunch or afterward. For example, if your package includes a zipline, after lunch you will have an exciting experience sliding on our zipline stretched over the canyon, gliding rapidly across approximately 600 meters as your adrenaline surges again. Guests who add a Jeep Safari to their tour may participate in an off-road adventure on a designated route either before or after rafting—traveling in a convoy through forest roads and visiting significant viewpoints (for example, the famous Oluk Bridge or a panoramic hilltop). For ATV/Quad or Buggy Safari packages, a roughly 20-30 minute ride is arranged on a nearby track. During this time, participants have fun racing their four-wheeled vehicles on muddy tracks while others cheer them on. If your program includes a Tazı Canyon visit, a Jeep excursion to the canyon viewpoint is usually arranged early in the morning before rafting or sometimes planned for the late afternoon after rafting. Your guide will organize the most suitable sequence of these optional activities throughout the day—so all you need to do is enjoy the moment!

Return: Once all activities are completed and your adventure-filled day comes to an end, it’s time to leave our facility. After changing into dry clothes, you board the vehicle for the journey back to Side. On the bus or in the jeep, everyone shares the day’s excitement, shows photos, and enjoys pleasant conversation. After approximately an hour and a half of travel, you are dropped off at your hotel in the late afternoon. Your tour will conclude with unforgettable memories—and perhaps new friendships—that will last a lifetime. (Tour end time is typically around 17:00-18:00, depending on traffic conditions upon arrival in Side.)

Side Rafting Tour: Where Adrenaline and Nature Meet

Side rafting tours offer a perfect opportunity to take an adrenaline-fueled break during your vacation and cool off in the Mediterranean heat. Rafting, known in English as “white water rafting,” is an exciting team sport performed on high-flow rivers. Paddling in a large inflatable raft under the guidance of an instructor, you navigate through foamy rapids and challenge the river’s current. The chance to raft in Side is made possible by the natural treasure that is Köprülü Canyon. Located within the borders of Manavgat in Antalya, this national park hosts one of Turkey’s most popular rafting routes and welcomes thousands of adventure seekers each year.

Where Is Rafting in Side Done?

When it comes to rafting around Side, the first place that comes to mind is the renowned Köprülü Canyon National Park, famous for its unique natural beauty. Köprülü Canyon is a magnificent gorge formed over millions of years by the Köprüçay River, stretching approximately 14 km and featuring depths that sometimes exceed 100 meters. Situated at the foothills of the Taurus Mountains, this national park is about 70 km from Side (a 1–1.5-hour drive by private car). The park takes its name from the historic Roman bridge over the Köprüçay; the Oluk Bridge, dating back to the 2nd century, still stands robustly and is located right near the rafting starting point. Flowing through a valley surrounded by steep rocky walls and lush pine forests, the Köprüçay River is a refreshing oasis in the sweltering summer heat. The water remains remarkably clear and clean year-round, supporting abundant freshwater fish such as trout. Moreover, the canyon area is rich in wildlife (animals such as deer, mountain goats, and foxes have been spotted), although wild animals generally keep out of sight in the busiest sections of the rafting course.

Köprülü Canyon National Park was declared in 1973 and covers an area of approximately 36,000 hectares. The park not only boasts natural beauty but also features historical relics. Near the rafting finish point, you can visit the ruins of the ancient City of Selge (dating from the Roman period), including its theater, temple, and agora. Among the rock formations in the park, one of the most striking is known as “Adam Rocks” – intriguing stone columns that resemble fairy chimneys. If you have extra time during your rafting tour, you might also explore these historical and natural sites. However, for most visitors, the main attraction of Köprülü Canyon is its excellent river course where you can safely experience an adrenaline rush.

The Rafting Course and Its Difficulty Level

The rafting course in Köprülü Canyon is designed for both beginner and intermediate adventurers. Spanning approximately 8–14 km (depending on the tour program), the course features numerous low to moderate rapids. The river’s difficulty is generally classified as 2–3 on a scale where 1 is the easiest and 6 the most challenging. This means that while the course includes plenty of fun, rolling waves, it isn’t extreme enough to require professional experience. In other words, Side rafting tours are ideal for both novices and experienced adventurers.

The rapids you encounter during rafting can sometimes be gently undulating waves and at other times powerful currents that shake your raft. Paddling together to overcome these waves, keeping your raft balanced, and matching the water’s rhythm not only boost your adrenaline levels but also provide immense enjoyment. In the most thrilling sections of the course, you will feel your heart racing; even if you momentarily wonder “Are we going to capsize?”, proper commands and teamwork will help you overcome the obstacles successfully. Since the rafting route on Köprüçay is considered safe for beginners, families with children frequently join these tours. Typically, children aged 6–7 and older can raft with their families, with special precautions taken for them in the raft. By the end of the course, everyone will be so exhilarated that they’ll want to go for another round!

Rafting Experience According to Seasonal Conditions

The rafting season in Köprülü Canyon generally lasts from April to October. Due to changes in the river’s flow and water temperature across seasons, the difficulty level of the experience can vary slightly:

  • Spring (April–May): Due to snowmelt and rainfall, the river’s water level rises and the current speeds up. During this period, the rapids become stronger (sometimes reaching a difficulty level of 3+). The water temperature is quite chilly (around 10–12°C), so during the spring, our company can optionally provide neoprene wetsuits. While rafting in spring is exciting for those with prior experience, following our guides’ instructions makes it safe and enjoyable even for beginners.
  • Summer (June–July–August): In summer, as rainfall decreases, the river’s flow is lower and the current becomes more predictable compared to spring. Most rapids are at an easy (level 2) difficulty, making it the best season for families and children. The cold river water is incredibly refreshing in the heat, and many guests particularly enjoy swimming outside the raft during these months. However, summer is also the peak tourist season, and there may be many rafts on the river at the same time. This crowd actually enhances the fun as it creates ample opportunities for water fights! Rafting in summer is both a refreshing and exhilarating escape for everyone suffering the holiday heat.
  • Autumn (September–October): In autumn, the first rains may slightly raise the river’s flow again. While September still largely retains summer conditions, the weather begins to cool in October. The water level remains moderate; the rapids are not as intense as in spring, but become slightly more active than in summer. Rafting during this season is enjoyable both due to fewer crowds and the pleasant, mild weather. Towards the end of autumn (especially in late October), if the weather is favorable, some companies continue tours; however, the season generally ends with November.

In summary, the Side rafting course offers its unique charm in all four seasons. Regardless of the water level, our experienced guides adjust the route and safety measures accordingly so that guests enjoy the best possible experience every time. Whether it’s an adrenaline rush in lively spring waters or cooling off and having fun in the summer heat, rafting in Köprülü Canyon is a fantastic activity for most of the year.

Safety and Guides

Safety is our top priority on Side Rafting tours. Each raft is accompanied by a licensed rafting guide who is extremely knowledgeable about the course and the river’s character. Thanks to a detailed briefing at the start of the tour, even if you have never rafted before, you will learn the basic techniques and safety rules. Your guide will continuously provide instructions throughout the course (for example, “Paddle fast ahead!”, “Stop!”, or “Turn right/left!”). As everyone follows these commands, you not only successfully complete the course but also experience the joy of synchronized teamwork.

All participants are provided with properly sized life jackets and helmets, which are mandatory to wear throughout the rafting session. This equipment provides maximum protection in case of a fall or collision. While on the river, one or two guides in a canoe or boat may accompany the group for safety; they are ready to quickly rescue anyone who falls or to move ahead and monitor the course. If your raft capsizes, there is no need to panic—your guide will help everyone get back into the raft in no time. Moreover, certain sections of the Köprüçay are relatively shallow and calm, providing opportunities to catch your breath or recover.

It is important to inform your guides about your health condition before the tour. Those who do not know how to swim can still participate in rafting, as life jackets will keep them afloat; however, in such cases, your guide will position you more centrally in the raft and pay extra attention to you. Guests with serious health conditions such as asthma, heart problems, or epilepsy, or those who are pregnant, are not advised to participate in rafting due to safety concerns. Typically, children can join the raft if they are 6 years or older, with the calmest spot in the raft reserved for them and a guide staying close by. Every guest on our tours is covered by tour insurance, and all necessary precautions are taken against potential accidents.

Our guides not only ensure your safety but also make sure you have fun. They create a cheerful atmosphere by cracking jokes and even initiate water gun fights among the rafts when appropriate. With years of experience, these guides know when to be serious and when to have fun. Under their leadership, you will feel secure while enjoying an adrenaline rush. The fact that most guests applaud and thank their guides at the end of the tour is a testament to their satisfaction. In short, on a Side rafting tour, you will enjoy the comfort of working with true professionals and feel as if you are embarking on an adventure with an old friend in a warm, friendly environment.

Other Activities That Can Be Added to Rafting Tours

If you want to enrich your rafting adventure in the Side region, you can add various extra activities to your tour. We have already mentioned the combo tours above. Below, you will find brief descriptions of these activities:

  • Canyoning: A nature sport that involves hiking, climbing, and swimming within a canyon, which can be done either before or after rafting. During canyoning in the arms of Köprülü Canyon, you traverse narrow rock passages and take a refreshing dip in natural pools. It offers an especially refreshing and fun experience during the summer months.
  • Zipline: This activity involves gliding along steel cable lines while secured by a safety harness, delivering an adrenaline rush with a bird’s-eye view of the scenery. Our facility offers zipline courses ranging from approximately 100 to 600 meters. Let yourself glide through the air and cross from one side of the river to the other in just a few seconds—don’t forget to enjoy the breathtaking view as your heart races!
  • Jeep Safari: An exploratory tour conducted with 4x4 off-road vehicles on rugged dirt roads and forest trails. It can be chosen either for the transfer to the rafting area or for the return journey. During a Jeep Safari, you may pass through small villages, observe local life, and enjoy a refreshing drive in the clean mountain air. Traveling in a convoy on dusty roads, you might occasionally pass through puddles for an unexpected cool surprise.
  • Quad Safari (ATV): A short off-road riding experience using four-wheeled ATV motorcycles, especially popular among the young and the young at heart. Riding an ATV for about 20–30 minutes on challenging tracks—with the sound of the engine, the wind in your face, and a bit of mud—provides an adrenaline rush almost as thrilling as rafting.
  • Buggy Safari: Similar to an ATV ride, but conducted with a small, two-seater off-road vehicle (buggy). You take control of the steering while riding with a companion on a natural track. This activity is ideal for couples or friends, as you share the experience side by side—guaranteeing dust, mud, and plenty of laughter!
  • Tazı Canyon Visit: Tazı Canyon, which has recently become famous as the “Eagle Viewpoint,” is a stunning natural wonder offering canyon views with a depth of approximately 400 meters. You can reach this canyon, located near the rafting area, by jeep and take panoramic photos from the edge of the gorge. With eagles soaring overhead, you will feel very small amidst the mountains. Nature photography enthusiasts especially love this visit.
  • The Ancient City of Selge: Located within the boundaries of Köprülü Canyon National Park, the Ancient City of Selge is a mountain settlement dating back to the Roman Empire. Here, you can see a well-preserved ancient theater, temple ruins, an agora, and aqueducts. If you are fascinated by history, you can add a cultural element to your rafting tour by visiting this site. To reach Selge, you must climb winding mountain roads via a Jeep Safari, but the 2000-year-old view at the top is well worth the effort.
  • Adam Rocks: These intriguing rock formations, shaped by natural erosion near Selge, resemble human silhouettes when viewed from a distance and are referred to by locals as “Adam Rocks.” On your Jeep Safari route, you can stop to admire these extraordinary formations and even snap a few photos. Encountering nature’s own sculptures makes this tour even more unforgettable.

As you can see, Side Rafting tours are not just about paddling on the river; they also offer the chance to experience the surrounding natural and cultural riches. Whether you add an adrenaline-pumping zipline to your tour or take a brief journey into history, you can tailor the day to your interests. Our guides and team ensure that any extra activities you choose are coordinated smoothly and enjoyed to the fullest.

Conclusion: Rafting in Side is a unique experience that will create unforgettable memories. While you immerse yourself in the breathtaking natural views at the foothills of the Taurus Mountains, you also engage with the exhilarating rush of the water, adding a whole new dimension to your vacation. Moreover, through combo tours, you can multiply the adventure by experiencing more than one activity in a single day. The Side Rafting tour is an event that should definitely be part of your holiday itinerary—offering both high levels of fun and peace of mind with its robust safety measures. Recommended for adventure enthusiasts and families alike, this tour is one of the most highly recommended activities in the Side region. If you want to join in on this excitement, book your spot and let’s dive into those frothy waves together! Get ready to experience the most unforgettable day of your vacation with rafting in Side.
